Asociatia Pro Vobis
The mission of Pro Vobis National Resource Center for Volunteering is to develop volunteerism through training, consultancy, networking and research and to promote volunteerism as a viable and irreplaceable resource for solving the problems the society is now facing. Pro Vobis was established in 1992 and had played a crucial role in the development of volunteerism in Romania in the past 20 years. Pro Vobis introduced in Romania the concept of “volunteer center” in 1997, as a result of external collaborations, becoming the first such center in the country. (currently there are over 25 volunteer centers currently run by Pro Vobis in Romania). Pro Vobis pioneered innovative volunteering projects in Romania, such as elderly volunteering and skilled volunteering for international development and humanitarian aid (being involved in implementing two pilot projects towards the EU Aid Volunteers initiative established by the European Commission / DG ECHO).
