An educational afternoon dedicated to the European Solidarity Corps
New opportunities for volunteering from the European Union. This is the training seminar promoted by Sodalis CSV Salerno as part of the actions of the Solidalciti project supported by the Europe for Citizens action.
The meeting will be held in Salerno on Thursday 25 October 2018 at 5.00 pm at the Mediterranea Hotel, via Generale Clark, 54.
After the greetings of the vice-president of Sodalis, Emilia Muoio, the professor, Massimo Pendenza, Sociology teacher at the University of Salerno, with an in-depth analysis . Following Francesco Piemonte, coordinator of the Solidalciti project, on “The opportunities of the European Solidarity Corps – European Solidarity Corps.
The European Solidarity Corps is the new initiative of the European Union to promote volunteering towards young people, who can join projects, active in their country or abroad, for the benefit of the communities present in Europe.
An important moment of growth for those who want to do a volunteer experience and learn about new gift cultures. Young people between 17 and 30 can participate in this initiative, volunteers or aspirants.
Voluntary activities to which young people can participate refer to areas of intervention such as: prevention of natural disasters or reconstruction following a calamity, assistance in centers for asylum seekers or social problems of various kinds in the communities. During the afternoon the modalities of participation in the European Solidarity Body both for volunteers and for voluntary organizations and third sector will be illustrated
For the latter, the methods of accreditation and how to host volunteers from abroad will be illustrated. Specifically, organizations can host volunteers from 2 to 12 months.
